What is Ukhuñan?
UKHU-ÑAN, a Quechua term meaning “Deep Path,” invites visitors to rediscover living culture through the hands of master artisans who, through live demonstrations of their intricate creative processes, share the skill and ancestral knowledge behind each handcrafted piece. Ukhu-Ñan is the first artisan tourism route in the Arequipa region, developed by CITE Arequipa, to showcase the art of local artisans from some of the region’s most emblematic areas — where traditional wisdom and living culture come together in diverse artisanal expressions.
